Introduction
We went back to my wife’s hometown at Ipoh Perak for a short vacay three weeks ago. We frequently going back to Ipoh Perak mostly once in every 2-3 months since we are staying at Sepang Selangor. It took around 2-3 hours journey from Sepang to arrive Ipoh Perak. I personally, I would rather choose to settle down at Ipoh Perak compared to Sepang Selangor. Wondering why? we will share a few things that we can easily do in Ipoh Perak.
Apart from being my wife’s hometown, in Ipoh Perak I found that there are few things or blessing that might not be found in Selangor Malaysia.
Cost of Living
The first point from my mind is the cost of living in Ipoh Perak might be more cheaper than Sepang Selangor to be precise, more cheaper compared to Klang Valley. Not only in term of the house rental, landed properties price but also the cheap and affordable foods in Ipoh Perak. Well in this article I will share about the foods since we only have the experience on that. Maybe one fine day, if we afford to purchased a land or properties in Ipoh Perak we will share it again in the next blog post.
During our visit to our parent’s house was not only to visit them but also bring them along to have dinner, breakfast and lunch at the most favorite restaurants among the local peoples in Ipoh Perak.
If c0mpared to Klang Valley, the price of the foods are RM2-3 lower. Here there still have chicken satay for only RM0-80 to RM1.20 per pieces!
Calm and Serenity Community
The first time I touch down at Ipoh Perak was in 2016 to visit my youngest brother during the time he studying at UiTM Seri Iskandar Perak. The environment during that time was very calm and tranquil for me. Less traffic jam, not too crowded hence it lead to less headache.
The landed houses for rent were easily to get if compared to Klang Valley that we might only afford to rent a high rise apartment or flat house that even more expensive compared to those landed houses in Ipoh Perak.
One Stop Transit For Travellers
Here in Ipoh Perak always becoming one stop center for travelers or backpackers before proceed their journey to the northern states in peninsular Malaysia, especially those who on their way to Penang, Kedah and Perlis.
Travelers from the Southern region when they are heading to the North, they usually will stay one night in Ipoh Perak to take a nap or rest before proceed to drive to their destination in Penang, Kedah or Perlis that might takes more than 3-4 hours from Ipoh Perak.
Old Town Vibes City
Ipoh is different from other urban city in Malaysia. It is not too well developed but not too far left behind as well. We can say that Ipoh town is just like an old town style where the old design buildings during colonization era are stay still at the center of the city.
It is suitable for those photogenic person to come here and feels the old and gold vibes and take photos with the iconic and heritages buildings in Ipoh Perak.
Relax and Exercise, Enjoy Healthy Life Style
Ipoh Perak not only an old town for the golden ages, but it also suitable to raise our kids here. As of now, it is free from urbanization conflicts, heavy traffic jam and more.
Many recreation places here to visit every single time to enjoy the fresh air in the morning, performing brisk walk, spending time with family for picnic and so on.
I personally think that at it suitable for me to raise up my 2 little kids 1-3 years old until they turns 18 before let them pursue Master Degree or higher level outside Perak.
Almost government primary schools in Ipoh Perak located in the nearby residential areas. For average students up to 20-30 for each classes. It more little or fewer if compared to Kuala Lumpur and Klang Valley where we can see one class got up to 40 students at one time. Hence it comes to my mind that the students in Ipoh should have a huge, good and comfortable class/school to study without disruptions.
Conclusion
When talking about Perak generally, there is no need to think about entertainment. Ipoh to be more precise is not suitable for those who want entertainment holiday except those who love nature, quiet and tranquility nor serenity. Perhaps peace, and harmony too.
Old city not only for the golden ages, but those who want to raise their kids for primary educations with good environment and surrounding. Plus suitable for outsider photogenic to come to this city to take photos with old colonial design buildings background.
Cheaper foods and drinks compared to KL and Klang Valley that allowed us to bring along our family to have dinner at the hotel, street foods or favourites restaurants among the locals.
Easy to access for healthy life style since there are many recreation places located nearby residential areas.
