Rob Friend appointed CEO of Harimau Malaya as per announced by the official Football Federation of Malaysia via their official Facebook page.
Official name Robert Douglas Friend, he was a former Canadian national player and Eintracht Frankfurt club. He will officially start his assignment at Wisma FAM, Kelana Jaya in January 2025.
Apart from Eintracht Frankfurt, Rob Friend who plays in the forward position also has been with Moss FC, Molde FK, Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha Berlin and 1860 Munich as well as the United States club, LA Galaxy in 2014.
With the Canadian national team, he made 32 international appearances starting from 2003 when he was 22 years old until 2011 when he was 30 years old.
Originally from Rosetown, Saskatchewan, Canada, Rob Friend who will be 44 years old on January 23 comes with a great portfolio through his involvement in the field of football management and administration after he retired as a player in December 2014.
Rob Friend has also led the top management and administration of two clubs that play in the CPL, namely as CEO and co-founder of Pacific FC from 2019 to 2022 and as president and co-founder of Vancouver FC from 2022 until now.
